RoadTrip Mission DirectTv receiver compatability

I have a KVH tracvision A5 on my motorhome with a Hughes receiver that came with it for DirectTV - the satelite unit on the roof is malfunctioning and I would like to replace it with a RoadTrip Mission - will the receiver I have from the tracvision be compatible

In many cases KVH uses a receiver specific to their hardware. Let us know what model number receiver you have and we should be able to give you an accurate answer. Having said that you have a Hughes receiver (not DirecTV) means that it is at least a very old receiver and just speaking off-hand, I would guess that it is not.
The good news is that if it's not, a replacement is very inexpensive.

I checked the receiver - it does not have a model number - it just says Tracvision A5 and has a serial number - R04060163 and it says KVH on it

To the best of my knowledge, no, that will not work. I would suggest that you get a DirecTV brand receiver. The D12 (or R16 as a DVR) is recommended if you only want the SDTV programming but if you want to use it in your home or if you ever plan to update to HDTV then I would suggest the H24 receiver or HR24 if you want a DVR.
