AS-2003

Postby daven » Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:46 pm

I have been having the same searching problem that another member had. My unit is on an rv
and just recently it has a problem searching. The only way I could get a signal was to watch the tv
and when the signal strength started to rise, I hit the off button and hope I stopped the unit in time.
While the unit searched, I could see it pass a good signal. I went to the troubleshooting guide and
installation manual and the only thing I found was that the satellite receiver should be configured for
two satellites. (Mine was set for one). I hit the search button again and it found the signal and stopped.
What difference does the receiver configuration settings have on the antenna? Also, is this unit a dual
LNB? My understanding is Winnebago did not run the second coax for a second receiver until 2007.
I hope that I have another option than buying a new unit. Thanks daven

Since your unit is able to toggle between the Primary and Secondary satellites as you change channels with the remote, the receiver tells the AS-2003 what to do. If the receiver is not set for the two satellite option, your AS-2003 can get confused by the signals the receiver sends to it.

The AS-2003 has a Dual LNB however that just means that it can output two different channels to two different receivers. It does not allow it to look at two satellites at the same time.

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked about the Dual LNB cable is that I use two receivers on our
long trips and wanted to use the roof antenna instead of using a portable antenna on a tripod for the
second receiver. I saw that there were two cables run through the roof but only one shows up behind
the control box. I'll call Winnebago to find out where the second cable is. Thanks again. daven
