Unable to connect to satelitte

Postby richbb » Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:16 pm

I have a carryout antenna which until now has worked perfectly but suddenly my receiver is indicating "default Satellite instead of the normal 91? How can I determine the fault? Is it the antenna not finding the satellite or my receiver?

Any help will be appreciated - I am using Bell Express Vu

Are you still in Canada or are you in the US now? Where exactly?

As far as anyone can confirm, Bell has realigned their SD signal just as they did with their HD signal a few years back. The reports are that the Bell signal is no longer available in the US unless you are within a few hundred miles of the Canadian border.

Thanks for the input - guess it's time to switch to Star Choice!

Best of luck! I foresee lots of Bell customers bailing in favor of the Shaw service. Just be aware that your current antenna will not work with the Shaw service. You will need either an open face antenna on a tripod or the Winegard Trav'ler due to the unique LNB used by Shaw.
