GM-1518 - On Bell

Postby MaDLeB » Mon Oct 01, 2012 8:47 am

Hi,

I recently purchased a GM-1518 and trying to get this to work in my trailer.

If i connect the dish directly to my 6131 receiver it works no issues.

As soon as i connect it my trailer it will not detect the LNB/Switch. If i find the LNB/Switch directly then move the cable over to my trailer everything works, and the dish will change sats accordingly when i change channels.

I read somewhere on another forum that coax couplers/connectors need to have a higher MHZ rating. That i required ones that were rated higher then 2000mhz.

Is there any truth to this?

Anybody else have this issue?

Something's not adding up here - if it toggles when running through the trailer after it's been configured, it should toggle when attempting to set up the switch.

Unfortunately, with internal wiring, it's impossible for us to tell what is there, so I would say to either get it rewired by someone who knows what they're doing for satellite or run externally for the time being. There's a lot of variables we can't account for on prewires.

You may want to try to locate a dealer in your area using our website: http://www.winegard.com/dealer/rv.php

I even tried it with a small cable with one coax coupler to the receiver and it didn't configure the lnb's. Could it be something wrong with the dish? I checked the DC voltage at the end of the cable before hooking to the satellite and it's the same without going through my trailer as directly out of the receiver.

If the antenna works fine running a cable directly then there isn't a problem with it. It seems you're having problems once you start running through the prewire.
