Sensar with Wingman

Postby scheib » Mon Sep 17, 2012 3:11 pm

I have a 2005 5th wheel with a RV-6004 antenna. I'm assuming this is a Sensar II or III. Would a new Sensar IV provide any benifit over me just adding a Wingman to my current antenna?

Thanks,
Jay

Jay,

If it is a Sensar III then adding a Wingman would be equivalent to a Sensar IV. If it is a Sensar II, it is only rated for 12 dB gain and the Sensar IV would be a more powerful head.

The III and IV are both rated for 19 dB, the only difference is the IV has the Wingman integrated into the mold.

To identify a II vs. a III, you can either look at the shape of the head or count the rubber feet on the bottom.

The II will have four rubber feet and will be shaped symmetrically, like a football.

The Sensar III will have three rubber feet and will be shaped non-symmetrically, like a tear drop.
