1518 & VIP211K can't find switchI have a Carryout 1518 with a VIP 211k receiver. I have the DP settings 2 & 5 down for satelites 61.5 & 72 (Dish Network). 1518 does not stop moving & will not find switch.
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchI would not recommend this setting as the 72.5 satellite is causing issues.
Try setting the Carryout to the WA 110, 119, 129 (4,7,8 down) or the hybrid mode which is 110, 119 and 61.5 (2,3,4,7,8 down). Be sure to follow the check switch instructions exactly (you only have 6 minutes to fully complete the routine after you power on the antenna) and let us know what happens. Also, please let us know where you are currently located.
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, I am using one of my home receivers. My receivers are brand new. They are set on Sats 61.5 &72. Will this make a difference. Does the Tail Gator work better than the Carryout?
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, I forgot to tell you that I am located 15 miles west of Oak Ridge, TN. I will give these settings & try & let you know how it goes.
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, I tried both of your DP settings. Same results. Does not find switch & dish continues to move. I would assume that this means it is not finding a satellite. I did this with the cover off so I could watch the dish move. After each side to side move, it would try to go to an angle, then would go back to facing straight up. The check switch would take about 30 minutes.
Any Suggestions? Does Tail Gator work better? I am getting frustrated.
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchObviously, anything that works will work better than something that does not. What we need to figure out is why yours is not working.
Could you verify that you are following these directions exactly? http://www.winegard.com/receivers/setup ... e_carryout With the dip switches setup for 110, 119 and 129 the antenna must be locked onto the 119 satellite before you attempt a check switch routine. That routine must also be accomplished as soon as the antenna locks and stops as you only have 6 minutes for the routine to fully complete.
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, I have followed these steps so many times I could complete them in my sleep. One of the issues is that the receiver box is one of my home receivers. My system is pointed to 61.5 & 72. Can I ask the 1518 to point to 119 & it find a satellite? If so, what DP settings do I need to try next?
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, I am also contemplating returning my 1518 to Camping World & exchanging for a Tailgater. Would the Tailgater work on 61.5 & 72?
Re: 1518 & VIP211K can't find switchBill, Ive tried your suggested DP settings as well as the 2 & 5 setting that someone at Winegard suggested. The dish has not locked on to any Sat. It keeps moving. Any suggestions? Will a Tailgater work on 61.5 & 72?
