GM 1518 carryout

Postby p47tbolt@hughes.net » Fri Aug 24, 2012 12:48 pm

Can the GM 1518 carry out be mounted on the top of my travel trailer ? I would like to store it there and just power it up when i get to my destination. Will that cause a problem with the unit?
Thanks

Winegard makes a ladder rack for the Carryout and you could store it there while you travel and remove it at your destination (or use it there once stopped if the view is not blocked).
If you can figure out some other temporary installation procedure that you prefer for your roof you certainly could do so. Just be sure that you know how much additional height you have added to the coach to ensure you do not go under anything that would be too low for safe clearance.
If you want to mount an antenna on your roof permanently you would want to purchase the Mini-Max or Mission dome or the Winegard Trav'ler open face antenna.

the Mini-Max or Mission dome or the Winegard Trav'ler open face antenna. would you have part #'s or just go to wineguard. I just seen the ladder on there web site before I see your post. I might just check that out also. I will also need a cover for the dome if I understood you correct?
Thanks for the input

Here is a link to the roof mounted antennas.

You would not need any kind of a cover for any of the Winegard antennas as they are all designed to work in an open environment.
