Preamp and Trees

Would a preamp stabilize a channel signal?

I have trees and everything works great except when the wind blows the signals drop suddenly down to about 40 on a scale of 100 and then the signal pixializes/freezes.

The signal never goes below 40, so I guess that I always have a signal?

Would a good preamp boost or smooth the signal so it would not pixilate/freeze?
If so, what would be a good one for my problem?

My Winegard SS-3000 came with a very small preamp but I am not sure that it is able to overcome the swaying trees?

What does your TVFool profile look like? How long are the cable runs from the antenna to the TVs? Are you using splitters for multiple TV sets?

About 50 feet of RG62 Quad Shield from the attic to family room TiVo.
Have tried two different splitters alone and in series.
Also, tried without any splitters.
Just using one TV through a TiVo.
Only have a problem when the wind blows.
Have a green belt across the street with trees which the antenna is pointing at.
Have the anntena pointing slightly SW at about 200 degrees by compass.
I get all the local channels from Seattle 12 miles away (4,5,7,9,16,22) and one from 30 miles away(13).
The only problem that I have is with channels 4 and 5.
4, 5, and 7 sit on top of eachother all at 12 miles.
7 has a strong signal of about 68 to 98 on a 100 scale (TiVo).
4 and 5 have a signal of about 50 to 80 on a 100 scale (TiVo).
The only time that I have a problem with channels 4 and 5 is when the wind blows.
All the other channels are always fine.

Ok, I purchased an MS-2000. So, now I have both the SS-3000 and MS-2000 connected through a splitter.
Interesting results. I lost completly the only station that was 30 miles away. However, all the other stations are acceptable. We have not had any real WIND yet to blow the tree leaves around. So, will update later.

So, after trying hundreds of antenna positions and combinations, the best seems to be using both the SS-3000 and the MS-2000 and a splitter.
I even tried putting the antennas outside in the driveway. No difference at all.
We will see what happens over the nest few months as the tree leaves fall off and the wind and rain start.
Just a thought, as we are behind some hills, should I try to point the antennas slightly up, and if so at what angle?
