Carry out does not look for satellite

My carry out no longer searches for a satellite. There is 12 v to the unit. DirecTv receiver is set to set up satellite. Can I trouble shoot inside the dome?

There is 12V to where? Have you removed the dome to see if there is 12V to the main board inside? There is a fuse in the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter (unscrew the metal tip and watch out for the spring inside). Let us know what you find.

There is 12 v to the socket that plugs into the Dish base. I have replaced the fuse in the cigarette plug.

When you remove the dome, is there 12V power where the red and black wires plug into the silver control box?

Bill, thank you for your advice. My reply is late because I waited to go into town to buy a soldering iron, new 12v cigarette connectors and a cheap meter.

With the new cigarette connectors I was getting 12 Ok at the Winegard plug. I was not always getting 12 v at he disconnect on the inside of the plug, but it was difficult to get the probe in. So I finally took the cover off the circuit board and disconnected the red and black wires. I jumped the 12 v from the Winegard plug to the circuit board and after a couple of seconds the dish moved

I will replace the Winegard plug & socket with something else.
