Cesar,

If it downloaded the guide, the antenna was on signal on 101. There's no way for it to magically acquire the data.

You might want to check your settings by this document: http://www.winegard.com/kbase/upload/re ... irectv.pdf

If you use the incorrect setting, it may download the guide and then try to load the HD channels, which the Carryout can't get.

Also, the HR24 is a dual tuner receiver, and thus, will either require a separate cable for each input, or you may run it as a single tuner with one cable but must specify this to the receiver by changing Tuners from Dual to Single on the page where you set your dish type and switch type.

I wouldn't think it would be an activation issue if you're getting the 771 error code, but rather a configuration issue that should be easily fixed by checking everything above.

Thanks for your reply. FYI DirecTV sent me a tech at no charge who pointed out two points which are included in your message but not shown on the downloaded pdf; these are to set to 'SINGLE' tuner and for good measure we changed DISPLAY to hide the HD channels. These changes fixed the issue for me. Also, when returning the HD24-500 (which incidentally allows me to carry a heck of a lot of recorded material to the RV) to the house be sure to re-set everything back to what you need in the house e.g. TWO Tuners, HD Channels. I noticed that it will show you something without reverting the changes I made but it was all SD and I suspect wouldn't allow you to record/play. In any case I'm up and running.

Cesar,

It should not load the HD channels on the 3LNB18x20 setting. Basically what you've done will accomplish the same thing has using the Slimline 5 option and hiding the HD channels.
