SensarPro Installation

SensarPro InstallationI do not have a wall plate. Antenna coax seems to go directly to powered switch box then to TV's. If I connect the incoming antenna coax to the SensarPro then coax jumper to the powered switch box will the sensarPro be powered thru the coax and controlled by the switch box Antenna Power Switch? OR Do I need to run a separately switched 12v to the SensarPro.
Re: SensarPro Installationbillmnrv,
You can run from the antenna to the SensarPro to the switchbox, but you will want to make sure that you do not have the 12VDC connected to the switchbox while doing so. Otherwise, when you use your antenna input on the switchbox, it will output 12V to the SensarPro's TV1 jack, which could cause damage to the unit. The antenna would be powered by the SensarPro at that point.
Re: SensarPro InstallationHow is the SensarPro powered? Does it need 12v power to it's 12v leads?
I think I understand that I should provide 12v to the SensarPro from a source other than the powered switchbox, and that if I turn on the antenna power switch on the powered switch box I will backfeed 12v into the SensarPro TV1switch causing damage.
Re: SensarPro InstallationThe SensarPro does need 12V from the coach to the leads on the back. Then, when it is powered on and put in a mode that is listed under Antenna on the front of the readout, it will supply 12V to the antenna head.
You are correct on the second part. If you have the 12V pigtail plugged into the switchbox and are running a coax from the SensarPro to the antenna in on the switchbox, when you select antenna on the front of the switchbox, it will send 12V on the antenna in jack to the SensarPro. We do not want this to happen as it can and will cause damage. You are more than welcome to run a coax from TV1 on the SensarPro to the switchbox, but make 100% certain the 12V connector on the switchbox is disconnected. If you need anything else, please let me know.
Re: SensarPro InstallationWhen the SensarPro is in Park Cable mode is the antenna powered? In other words is there any 12v drain? Do I need to wire in a switch? Thanks.
Re: SensarPro InstallationNo. When the unit is switched to Park Cable the antenna is not powered and would be the proper position if you were going to store the RV for a time.
