Postby pchrcane65 » Mon May 21, 2012 6:39 pm

I purchased a new travel trail and has a wingard rs1500 on it when we took it from dealer TV worked at the dealer but we we got it home it did not work and we r 100 miles from where we bought it I had check all connections and found a cut in the coax just below atenna so i cut and put new connector on thinking that was problem but still no channels I have 12v dc up to atenna and red light is on does this tell me I have a defective atenna?

While the RS1500 is an excellent antenna, it does not have the range of an antenna like the Winegard Sensar III or IV. Could you give us your current location? Zip Code?
If you are now too far from the signal or in a location where the signal would be blocked, you will not get the same service you had at the location 100 miles away.

I appears you are in a very poor reception area. Only 1 or 2 channels listed and none of these assume you have a small antenna mounted only 12 feet above the ground.

While off-air isn't a perfect science, this area is testing the performance of the RS-1500, especially since we only have line of sight on two channels. The rest are 2Edge, which means you're receiving a reflected signal.

A Sensar III or IV would do much better given the address. Not sure what's going on with your father-in-law's situation, but from that zip code, we're really pushing the limits of the RS.
