how to hook up sat to vs0503

Recently purchased used Motorhome. Included was a winegard VS 0503/5312 system to allow for antenna, cable and satellite hookup. Am confused how to attach satellite box to this system. Is it as simple as attaching incoming line to sat box and then box to VS 0503 system? I do not have a digital tv in the rig so I also require the use of a digital conversion box. I'm very confused. Thanks for the help.

The cable that runs from the satellite TV antenna must run directly to the back of the satellite receiver. From the receiver, there will be an output option "Out to TV" or similar. You can connect this output to the video controller so you can watch satellite TV on more than one TV in the coach.

Our satellite "box" (receiver) is HD and does not have an "out to TV" option. Are there any other options for us? Would an RF Modulator be helpful?

Yes, the RF modulator would be the option. You will connect the red/white/yellow to the modulator and the coax output from the modulator to the video control center. You will not get any HD programming to the TV connected using this option but you will get a very good SD picture.
