RD-4600 troubleshooting

I can use the reciever "Setup" command to check the transponder signal strength - all transponders are 95+%. I then try to acquire the satallite - get a message "Downloading information from satallite". After a few minutes I get a menu and then the screen goes blank and get "Error 771 - searching for satellite". Any idea of where to start? The directv reciever works OK in the house. I have checked the voltages at the LBN as per the wingard troubleshooting guide and get about 11.8 volts. What next?

glenn21,

What model receiver are you using?

It's difficult to say what could be causing this. I would lean more towards receiver than satellite, especially with a manual system that won't move off signal on it's own.

Have you tried a different receiver? It's possible that when we use the receiver in multiswitch mode, it could be causing it to reset itself after a certain period of providing 12V to the LNB.
