SK3005 Not receiving all Satellites?

Postby supercub43 » Fri Apr 27, 2012 8:53 pm

I just installed a SK3005 Sat dish. I have a Direct TV reciever that is the correct number for HD> I've called and have done troubleshooting with Direct TV also........they recommended I contact Winegard......so here's the problem. I'm not recieving all the HD sats at the same time. I believe Direct TV said I was recieving A band or B band......it goes back and forth between the two. they had me go to channel 8508 (I believe that was the number) and 8509 which I was getting a message saying searching for Sat 1 (771) and on channels 8510 and 8511 message said I was connected. Sometimes the message would switch between the 2 sets of numbers and I would be connected to 8509-8510 and searching on 8510 and 8511. Direct said it sounded like an alignment problem......any ideas? Thanks

What is your receiver model number? Do you have B-Band converters installed? Does the display in the Trav'ler controller show *101 *110 *119 (the * is important)? Did you run through the "Repeat Satellite Setup" routine in the receiver? If so, what settings are you using for antenna type and multiswitch?
Once we hear back we can go from there.

H-21-100 Receiver, B-Band Converter? Is that the little plastic rectangular cube that is inline on the coax just prior to the receiver? If so, yes I have that. As far as the *101 *110 *119, I'll have to check tomorrow afternoon, but I believe that is what's displayed.
"Repeat Satellite Setup" ?? I'm not sure what that is...........all I did was turn it on......I haven't touched anything else on it.
Do you have a phone number where I could possibly call you tomorrow afternoon and you could talk me thru it. I'm in central Calif.
Thanks

Bill, Thanks for the info, I went thru the steps that you gave me to reprogram the receiver and it appears everything is up and working. Thanks again.
