Good signal poor transmission??

Postby locorunner » Mon Apr 09, 2012 12:15 am

I have a FV-HD30 FreeVision UHF VHF Antenna mounted 40 feet off the ground aimed at the one signal transmission point in the Salt Lake Valley (clear site 15 miles away). I have 50 ft. of coax to a splitter then 20 feet to one TV and 45 to 50 ft. to the main TV in our living room. We get pixilation and dropped signal at the TV in the Living room all the time, sometimes worse than others, some channels worse than others. I have an older SS-3000 Indoor HDTV Digital Antenna hooked directly into one TV that sits 5 ft from the closest outside wall to the incoming signal and get great reception on all channels. I tried a Mohu leaf antenna behind the Living room TV but it sits on the opposite wall of the house and had poorer reception than the outside antenna.
What can I do to get a good signal to my living room with out rerouting my coax??
Inline amplifier? Pre amp?

Good morning locorunner -

Add a Winegard HDP-269 preamplifier to your antenna and make sure the power injector for the preamplifier is before your splitter.
