MS-2000 Power Injector vs Pre-Amp & signal splitter question

Hello:

I purchased the MS-2000 antenna as a kit with co-axial cable included a few years ago and am happy with the results. This model is the amplified version verses the non-amplified MS-1000.

Does this mean it has a built-in equivalent to the AP-8700? If not could a AP-8700 be used or would the signal overload the tuner?

I'd like to add two additional cables to service my other TVs, which signal splitter would you recommend that doesn't degrade the signal too much?

Good morning Joe -

The amplifier in the MS-2000/2002 has 15dB gain on VHF and 18dB gain on UHF. So if you added the AP-8700 to an MS-1000 then you would have the equivalent of the MS-2000/2002. You can not add a AP-8700 to an MS-2000/2002 because the AP-8700 will not pass the DC voltage through it to power the amplifier in the MS-2000/2002.

If you wish to end up with 3 TV sets you can use two SP-1002 splitters or use an SP-1004 4 way splitter and only use 3 legs of the SP-1004. If the MS-2000 you presently have does not provide enough signal to power your 3 TV sets then add an HDA-100 between the MS-2000 power supply and the input to your splitters.
