Are there any antennas compatible with this receiver?

The H25 or HR-25 are not compatible with any Winegard system without the use of additional equipment.

It may be used with any of our units with additional equipment but with limited functionality depending on the specific Winegard antenna.

Can you give a hint as to what the additional equipment might be? I'm looking for an antenna for a motorhome. What is different in the 25's than the 24's? I am a new DirecTV subscriber and these were the receivers they gave me. Can I ask them for an older model as a replacement?

The additional requirements are pieces of DirecTV's SWM setup. You will need a SWM-8 switch, SWM power inserter and SWM splitter.

The reason the 25's won't work and the 24's do is that the 25's are a SWM only system. You can select multiswitch on the setup, but the receiver does not output any voltage to power the satellite LNB. This is the reason their SWM setup uses a power inserter.

In terms of old receiver models, you would need to contact DirecTV regarding that. Any model but a H/HR-25 or HR-34 will work with our antennas. An HD receiver will work but to receiver HD programming you need our SK-3005 Trav'ler and may need DirecTV B-Band Converters as well. Any other receiver will work with any or our domes or manual crank-ups to receive standard definition programming.

See the post directly above yours. I think you can get it working using these parts as there is a diagram available as how you would use these various parts to make your unit into a SWM unit. Personally, I recommend another receiver for the simplicity of it all.

You will want to see page 11 for how to hook up a domed system for SWM.

As Bill said, this is more difficult and costly to set up and you will lose functionality as the antenna as it will only be able to lock to satellite 101 and not toggle to satellite 119 for local channels if they come from that satellite in the area that you're in.
