Hi Mega Cabby,
I have a VUE Cube 1000.Used it 6mos,put it up.When I went back on the road,It doesn't work. It took 6 calls and a nasty e-mail to get customer service help. They say my remote is bad to vuecube. How could that go bad? It just sits on a shelf.
I plan to return and ask for a refund. It is NOT as easy to find satellites as they say. Then you have to turn off the tv,satellite reciever and cube to go from 110 to 119 satellite.Each time you switch between satellites,even though you can "store" your settings in memory. For me, I want something EASY,and the Vuecube is not. I am disappointed.
I plan to buy a carryout this weekend to try it out,if it doesn't work well,I'll return it,,,,hopefully it will work.

A question for DishNetwork. I currently am using the folding Winegard Satellite. And I can live with having only 119 (I know I can move it to see 110 but that's a hassle) but my problem is that most times when I try to use the "second"TV is screws everything up. I'm using a DVR 522 with dual tuner. I went ahead and ordered the Carryout so I can watch 110 and for the ease of setting it up. (I'm a full-timer) However I would still like to know if the Carryout also help with the dual tuner situation? Also I'm planning on hooking up a second receiver to it.

When you try to use the second tuner, are you running a second coax cable or are you using the splitter that DISH Network provides?

These splitters are for something called "DISHPRO" LNB's and don't really work with the LNB on either the Carryout or your RD-9046 folding unit. Try running a second cable, if this doesn't solve the issue, please let me know.

Ok, found a spot that got 119 and 110 HOWEVER, now the REceiver (Dish 522) keeps telling me there's a switch error because I'm using two different satillites and it won't let me out of it unless I disconnect sat 2?

Unfortunately, you may need to set up a favorite channel list of 110 channels and a second list of 119 channels to prevent this.

No dome will give you both satellites at the same time.

Actually my problem was not between the 110 and 119 switching back and forth. (I'm very, very pleased with that! ) It was when I ran the switch test it kept giving me an error between Tuner 1 and tuner two which are independently cabled per an earlier suggestion. In the mean time the problem seems to have worked itself out by just repeatedly letting the DVR restart itself several times.

Ok, I misunderstood.

There are two ways to deal with this.

Run the switch test on both tuners at exactly the same time (not as easy as it sounds)

or

Run the switch test on the second tuner while the cable is not connected and get it to find NO Switch.

Since the issue has worked itself out, I would call it good and not try either unless you run into a problem down the road.

Do you have to "aim" the Carryout in any direction when setting it up? I mean, is the point of connection for the antenna and power pointing in a northern or southern direction? Or, does it even matter?

I just got mine Friday and have not tried it out yet. The directions do not address any aiming other than a clear view of the south.

The direction the CarryOut is facing does not make any difference. Just make sure it is within 3 degrees of being level.
Even though the direction it is pointing does not make a difference, I've gotten into the habit of always facing the handle toward the southern sky. It may save a little time, but more importantly, I think it may save some mechanical movement while hunting.

The Carryout just needs to be within 5 degrees of level (westernflyer was correct when he said 3, we just recently changed the manual to be less conservative )

The reason that it seems faster to place the handle to the South is that if the handle is in the correct place, you are starting the unit facing South when it finds its home position. This allows it to find a satellite (any satellite) sooner. Once the Carryout finds a satellite, it can use that satellite to locate the one it wants.

Other than this, you can set it down in any direction.

I recently bought a carryout. I have a dish network 722 dual receiver. In set up the carryout for the east coast arcs as I am on the east coast. I have the dish network seperator/combiner installed. When doing a switch test tuner #1 totally failed. tuner # 2 had 72 listed with no signal, 77 on port #2 with a signal and 61.5 with a signal. I use 61.5 for hd and my local had programing. 129 is very difficult to receive. I could remove the seperator/combiner and run a temporary line to tuner # 2 and remove it after the switch test as I don't really need tuner # 2 for the bedroom but I am confused about the east coast arcs. What I need is 119,110 and 61.5. Does anybody know how to do this?

The combiner/separator is not helping but if you set your Carryout for 'hybrid' mode you will get 119, 110 and 61.5
