Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalWe had our Carryout GM1518 set for 3LNB 18x20 & Multiswitch as the tech rep told us several months ago. Set it up in our motorhome in our yard & it worked fine. Took it in the mh this past weekend & it will not detect the satellite signal. Nothing has been changed. Still using DirecTV, same HD receiver (which we pulled out & tried in the home to make sure it was still working & it was). The cabling is new & worked several months ago. What else can been done? Has DirecTV changed something?
Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalGood Morning,
if your receiver has been setting or if you have been using your receiver in your home, you will need to check your receiver set up: 1. Press menu 2. Press parental, favorites and set up 3. Press system set up 4. Press satellite 5. Press repeat satellite set up 6. Press the dash button under the 7 Key 7. Now you are on the dish type screen, for a manually aimed antenna make sure it is selected for Round or Round 18 inch. For an Automatic antenna make sure that it is on 3 LNB 18 x 20. For a Trav’ler make sure that it is on slimline 5, All Switch types need to be set for multiswitch 8. Press on continue 9. Press signal strength 10 Press on signal meters 11. To get out of the menu screens press on done, and then press done again, then on cancel then on the remote press the exit or the back button until you have a blank screen.

Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalWhile that's not the model, let's see if we can work from there. Did you have this receiver connected to a home antenna before connecting to the Carryout? If so, you are going to need to go into the receivers setup menu and select 18" round or oval 3-LNB and multiswitch for either selection. Move on to the satellite transponder screen and the signal meter. Now, plug in the Carryout and start a new search. This should get you locked on and you should be able to complete the setup routine and then watch TV.

Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalBelow I have pasted a copy of an email that I sent in almost 1 year ago having problems with our Carryout GM1518. Our receiver is an H21 through DirecTV. At the time I sent this message in, our receiver had been working in the house with no problems. It had even worked in our RV in the past. Around August of 2011 it started giving us problems. The replies are below but unfortunately it never solved the problem.
If you could please read the replies first, I will then continue below the replies as to what we have done in the last 2 days with no success at all. We want to take the one receiver in our RV which up until August of 2011 always worked in our RV. We have the H21 DirecTV receiver, set it up as 3 LNB (18x20), Multiswitch, verified configuations (which would not lock on), tried several other ways such as continuing on to signal strength (all 0s no strength at all). We have tried using just the 18" round, multiswitch, no success. We also have been told by a Winegard rep in the past to remember to always push select after we choose the dish & the switch or it won't lock on the signal. So we have always done that. We have contacted DirecTV & she basically had us do the same things we had already done, so of course were told call Winegard. We checked the voltage out of the DirecTV receiver to sat dish and it had 13.40 volts. Have read on the forum that 13 is fine. Checked all the coaxial cables, went direct out of DirecTV receiver to sat dish with no connection breaks, checked the belt on the motor of the dish and it is ok, checked to make sure the dip switches were still correct for DirecTV and they are correct. Dish operates up and down and around. The sat is set up where there are no trees or anything to obstruct the dish. Would really appreciate some help as we are going in our RV in another week and a half & there is no cable where we are going.
Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalI have a new GM-1518 Auto Carry out and 2 new HD24NC-700 receivers. When I hook up the TVs and receivers I get a "NO SIGNAL" on both TVs. One TV was purchased last year new is the Vizio 720 HD and the other TV is an older Samsung 480i. Neither TV has an HDMI port and the receivers do not have a coax port. So i am using the 3 RCA wire cables. I click "Menu" and I get "No Signal" displayed on both TV's. Do I have the right receivers?
Thanks, John
Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalThe Carryout cannot receive the DirecTV HD programming (no domed antenna can) so you might be hooked up properly but trying to access channels which are not available. Go into the Setup Menu and click on Preferences. You should be able to hide the HD channels so you can watch the SD versions.
You will then need to follow the instructions in the manual through the Repeat Satellite Setup routine (if you have not done so already) to ensure the antenna gets locked onto the 101 satellite. Bill

Re: Carryout GM1518 Does Not Detect SignalI recently purchased a winegard carryout to use in my 5th wheel. I can't get it to detect a signal. I've tried the instructions discussed in this forum, and am still having problems. I've used two different direct tv receivers and can get neither to work. Are their particular receivers that will not work at all with this dish ?
I've tried an H10 that was working with my previous automatic satellite that I had in my motorhome, and then a regular reciever from my house ( not Hi def but I can't remember the model).
