I have a 2005 National Sea Breeze motorhome equipped with a Wineguard VS0503 distribution box and a newly installed digital TV. When receiving via the antenna, everything works fine except for VCR recording. After reviewing several websites regarding VCR recording after the digital transition, it is my understanding that although I do not need a converter box for the digital TV while receiving via antenna, that I do need a converter box if I wish to perform VCR recording. I also understand that if my RV is receiving signals from either cable or satellite, I should be able to record on the VCR without a converter box.
So, does anyone have experience in attaching a converter box as it relates to the Wineguard distribution box, signals from an antenna, and a replacement TV that is digital, that will allow VCR recording ? Will an A/B Switch be required?
Thanks.
