Coachmen Rv for use in Australia

Postby johnwb11 » Sat Oct 22, 2011 5:51 am

Hi I'm really new to RVs and Motorhoming. We have purchased a Coachmen Mirada 2003 Model that is fitted with a Winegard system. Unfortunately it was a deceased estate purchase so I am having trouble finding out how to use the system in Australia. I have lots of leads coming out of the ceiling and a 49MHz Wireless PLL Transmitter, 3 Channel Model F3T-M04. Can anyone advise me on how to get the system working with an Australian Tv ....what goes to what?????? Thanks Johnwb

John,

I'll need a little more information on the situation.

If it's a satellite system, you will need a completely different LNB than what comes on our units for use in North America.

If it's an off-air antenna, in most cases it will need to draw 12V DC power from either a wall plate power supply or a video switch box. Then a coax cable will provide communication to the TV(s) from either the back of the wall plate or back of the switch box.

From what I could find, the wireless PLL transmitter you have is made by a company called KEC Mobile Applications. It appears that this company may have gone out of business.

Hi Tech Support, Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what other information you need before you can advise me??? The system operates on and antena not satalite. What we would like to do is be able to use the antena even if I have to buy new???? other stuff??? We mainly want to use this system to be able to watch tv in town locations. From what I can find out so far, I will need to buy a satalite system in order to beable to get TV in remote part of Australia. If you can give me some questions I will try to send you back what you need and if you can tell what I need to buy that would be great. I am very impressed and thankful that someone actually responded. THANKS regards John WB
