searching for satellite

Postby dave122v » Sun May 10, 2009 7:28 pm

I have a RD-9046/RD-9146 portable system hooked up to a Direct HD receiver. Self installed in January 09. worked fine at home and on first RV trip in March. Now can't get a signal from satellite to the receiver. What do I need to check? Beyond alignment of the satellite of course.

If you have a volt meter, you can check the coax to see if you have 12VDC at the LNBF.

If you do not have this you need to find where you are losing it. If have it, it might be an alignment or obstruction issue.

I have 12v dc at the LNBF. What's the chances that the LNBF has gone bad?

Slim, LNB's rarely fail.

Do you have the receiver set for a Round Dish?

The next thing to try is setting the antenna up in a large flat parking lot where you know that trees and being off level are not an issue.
