When I first power up the unit I cannot get connection to satellite until I remove the white shell top. Any suggestions on this issue?

What satellite service are you using? Where are you located? Have you changed any dip switch settings? What kind or receiver are you using? How many cables are you running from the Carryout to the receiver? Have you verified that you are getting at least 12V inside the dome? Any other info would be helpful.
