I helped a neighbor install his MS2002 omnidirectional. It is just above the roof line on a metal roofed house with multiple roof angles. See the attached picture.
When laying it upside down on the porch and testing our connections, we got all three local channels (5-7 miles) plus a number of others 20-30 miles away. On this roof, it gets maybe 2 of the 3 locals, and not completely consistently.
This is obviously an example of how NOT to install this antenna!
Is there any justification for attempting an installation on the side of the building, below the roof lines? Given the initial test, it might work a whole lot better just mounted to the porch railing!! Or is there any antenna that would work good given that roof?
GPS coordinates are: lat 43* 53.892'N lon 70* 45.256'W. Zip code 04029. Two channels (6, 8) are about SE direction, one (13) is about NE. The front / porch in the picture faces SSW so towers for 6 and 8 would be through some trees to the right, and tower for 13 would be through the house to the back and a bit of a hill.
Thank you!
