I am using a Winegard Road Trip Satellite LP -1000 unit on my RV. I need to replace the "LNB switch" on my unit. Does anyone know were I can get a REPLACEMENT LNB switch for this unit since this Winegard model is not made anymore.

Thanks...

There is no physical switch involved in the RT-1000 or any of the domed antennas. I assume that you are a Dish Network customer and hoping to get a good SW64 switch response (correct me if I am wrong). The switch is a software driven switch and if it is now failing there is likely no repair/replacement available.

My unit is a Model LP-1000 unit. I am a Directv customer. I was advised by Winegard technical that my LNB needed to be replaced and since the unit is not made anymore they did not have the part. It is ridiculous for a twenty dollar item one needs to purchase a new unit. Some channels are not coming in showing the transponder on that channel there is no signal. The channels that come in are very clear. I change the Directv box and it was the same. Winegard technical told me that it was the LNB that needed to be replaced. What do you think is the problem?

I miss typed, I certainly meant LP-1000, sorry.
I would agree that your LNB is bad, it was the word switch that confused me.

Hi Bill do you know where I can get a replacement LNB for my unit or can one be used from a satillite dish that's on the house.

Thank, Myron

I am not aware of any source for these LNB's but then I have never had an occasion to look for one either. You can see if you can get any usable identification information from the LNB itself and then Google that to see if such a thing still exists somewhere.

Thanks for the information. I guess I'm stuck with a unit that I can't find a 20 dollar LNB replacement part for since the company dosn't stock replacement parts for their products. I will never purchase their product again or any other company that don't stock replacement parts for their products.

If you hold to that thinking you will likely never buy an product ever again. I don't know of any company that stocks parts forever. Sometimes parts which were expected to be available become unavailable for reasons beyond the control of the end user. Few company's built all of the parts they use and if a supplier stops building the end user is stuck.
I don't disagree with your being upset, it's certainly frustrating.
