RD-4600 Satellite Dish

Postby clarklewis » Thu Apr 30, 2009 11:08 am

I have a 1999 RV with a Winegard satellite dish (model RD-4600 I think). I ordered Dish Network service. The installer could not find the satellite but after replacing the NLB, was able to find the DirecTV satellite. He said that the Dish Network satellite could not be found and said I should switch to DirecTV instead.

Is it posible that the NLB he replaced is only capable of picking up the DirecTV satellite? If so, what is the correct replacement NLB that will allow me to receive Dish Network and/or DirecTV? Thanks...

The LNB will work equally well for both.

Most likely either the first LNB was bad (very rare) or the installer was using the settings for DISH500 to try and find the satellite (common).

Try setting the DISH Network receiver for Dish300. If you have a SKEW angle, it is aiming you between satellites instead of at any of them.
