recommendations for outdoor 75080

Live near the center of 75080. House is wired for cable, assume it is 75-ohm coax. Need recommendation on best model for all local channels, and whether an external amplifier is recommended or required. Looked at GS-2200 - does that amp need to be near the antenna or can it be anywhere along the coax feed line?

Feeding an HD/Analog box going to a 12-year old Sony tube type TV. May add Roku shortly and would like to be HD ready for when we get a newer TV.

Thanks in advance - J

Good morning jstillings -

You are approximately 30 miles from the Dallas/Ft Worth TV stations so the GS-2200 should give you excellent results. For best results the antenna needs to be installed at least 30 feet high above the ground. The maximum distance between the antenna and the power supply is a 150 feet of RG6/U coax cable. The power supply for the GS-2200 can be installed any where between the antenna, the TV set or ahead of your splitter.
