I'm really in a bind.
I assembled the 8200U with no problems at all. I'm using all new coax cable. Without the preamp I was getting about a 60 signal on a converter box with little adjustment. Everything's fine. I hooked up the preamp as the signal shot to about 89. Analog channels were better than they had ever been, and the converter box was recognizing channels. Everything was fine as I scanned for channels, but the led light on the splitter would not stay on, indicating a loss in power. I have tried different outlets, changed out coax cable. I even had an electrician check the outlets.
However, I now have another problem. Since I unhooked the preamp for now, for some reason the signal with or without the preamp sits at zero. I get no analog channels whatsoever. I've checked all the connections many times. I also checked to make sure the cartridge housing cover was properly connected.
So I get no signal now whatsoever, and when the preamp was hooked up, the led light would not stay on. However, it did come on with i unhooked the "Antenna" coax cable. When the antenna coax was unplugged, it would light up; when it was plugged in, the light would go out. I do want to say that I hooked this preamp on a frien'ds antenna and it worked properly, amplifying the signal and the power light never went out. Does this help?
Thanks for your support.
