coaxial wire rusted off coming out of roofAfter losing my signal I discovered the coaxial coming out of the roof is rusted, the center wire is gone.I pulled off the plate on the roof, unscrewed the coaxial wire from the plate a saw the damage due to water. The big problem here is the wire coming out of the roof is not long enough to try to cut and install a new end.I tried to pull more out of the roof but it is tight! Any ideas?
Re: coaxial wire rusted off coming out of roofGood Morning,
How much cable do you have inside of your coach?
Re: coaxial wire rusted off coming out of roofI don't really know, there is only about 2 inches max sticking out of the roof and I don't know where it runs or how long it might be.Didn't know if there was a way to salvage the conecting end even though the center wire is gone at the end.
Thanks
Re: coaxial wire rusted off coming out of roofNo, there is no way to salvage the end to your coax connection. You will have to trim back the coax cable until you have the copper center wire showing and replace the end with a new connection. After you have replaced the connection, check the voltage, you should be getting 12 to 18 volts.
