AS2003 Satellite System fading in and out

Postby dkilley » Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:20 pm

I was hoping someone might be able to offer a suggestion to help. My satellite keeps fading in and out where there is a moderate wind blowing. I can hear to rattle the dish on the roof of the RV. I checked and there does not appear to be any loose wires or such to cause this. Possibly just worn parts are starting to show their wear and play in the dish is enough to send signal in and out.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are a few things that can cause something like this.

Either Broken gears or loose set screws.

I have attached two sets of instructions to this post.

The RP-RM25 are for changing the rotation gears but deal with opening the gear housing and putting it back together again. Use these to get into the unit.

Then make sure the set screws in the second attachment are tight.

While you are in the unit look for worn or damaged gears.

If you need new gears, contact our technical department at: 1-800-788-4417
