Do I need Convertor Box

Postby redott » Sun Mar 27, 2011 10:02 pm

I have a crank up directional winegard antenna that came on my 2002 trailer. I have a new digital TV, the antenna used to work with my old analog tv before the digital change, now I can't get any signal. My Tv auto scans for analog and digital signals reads a very low signal strength. This is at a campground I visit where analog tv used to come in fuzzy but viewable. Since my TV is a new set and it has digital tuning, do I still need a digital converter box. I thought they were only necessary for older analog TV's. Or do I have to change my older antenna to something else.

Good morning redott -

If your television set has a digital tuner you will not need a digital convertor box. Please check all coax connections to make sure they are tight and do a rescan on your television.

The Sensar "batwing" antenna is capable of receiving digital signals but we have created a low cost add-on that increases the gain of UHF channels (channels 14 - 59). For more information please visit www.winegard.com/wingman.
