SW-0012 Gables Antenna Mount

Hello All,

I just purchased the SW-0012 Gables Antenna Mount based on rave reviews. While it does seem like a sturdy mount for the installation type, I have to say I am a little disappointed that it came with no packing slip or instructions. It does not seem like there is enough pieces to attach the pole. The package came with two angles for the lower portion and two brackets: a large one (obviously for the top mount) and a smaller bracket. It seems based on the hole pattern in the smaller bracket that it is intended to sandwich the pole to either the upper or lower mount. So how do I secure the pole at the other location? Do I need to purchase another bracket??? The mount kit did include the hardware, but little else. I appreciate any feedback.

Good afternoon krajna -

The SW-0012 is made up of 2 long adjustable angle iron brackets for the bottom and 1 top bracket which look like an “M”. There should be 2 straps that are approximately 3 1/2’ long, these straps attach to the top and bottom bracket with the 5/16 X 21/2” carriage bolts and clamps the antenna mast to the mount.

Thanks for the reply. In my obsessive frustration I called Winegard tech support and spoke with Hans. His description of what should be included in the mount kit matches your reply. I am lacking one of the smaller, as Hans described it, V-strap. He went on to say that some mounts were sent by the contracted manufacturer missing the second V-strap. He went on to instruct me to send a copy of my receipt from the outside vendor to Winegard warranty in order to get the second strap. He also directed me to a website that provides excellent instructions on how to mount the SW-0012 gables mount. I informed the vendor from whom I purchased the mount that they may have mounts lacking the extra V-strap as well. Just want to pay forward the good will given by Hans.

Kudos to Winegard for having a tech support person like Hans. It's refreshing to see customer service still exists.
