Hi;
I live in Spokane, Washington, zip code 99208. The HD stations I wish to receive are 12 to 13 miles away, and they are truly Line of Sight - I can see the antenna lights blinking at night on top of the mountain, from the upstairs room where my HD tv is located. The max angle between towers is only 6 degrees.
I really want to locate the antenna indoors due to neighborhood covenants and severe weather concerns. I see lots of small satellite dishes around my home, but no conventional tv antennas, and don't want to stir up any neighbors. If I were to mount the antenna outdoors it would be highly visible from the street and subject to high winds.
I am thinking the GS-2200 would work fine for me, mounted indoors on a single wall directly facing the tv towers. OTH, if it doesn't work out for some reason, I would go ahead and mount it outside, in which case it would over-amplify.
Does the GS-2200 have an externally mounted amplifier that can be disconnected if necessary? Would I be better off getting the GS-1100 and then simply install an add-on amp if it proves to be inadequate indoors? That way I could discard the extra amp and mount the 1100 outside if needed.
I don't want to buy two antennas to experiment - what would be my most logical solution?
Thanks.
