RC-1010 FirmwareHello,
Are there any firmware updates available for the Winegard RC-1010???? William
Re: RC-1010 FirmwareGood morning westek,
Their would be no reason to have a firmware update for this product. Are you having issues you need technical help with?
Re: RC-1010 FirmwareI was just hoping that there were updates for this product. Since I am in an RV, I rely on the signal strength meter to help with pointing my antenna for max signal reception. It doesn't seem that the signal strength meter is very "real time." And sometimes it seems to stop responding, prompting me to use the exit button on the remote and then hit the "info" key in quick succession to get a true reading from the signal strength display. I also have noticed that the unit doesn't have the same "sensitivity" as my neighbor's unit that will get stronger signals and more stations using the same antenna setup. Like I said I was hoping for some improvement in the product performance through a firmware upgrade. Of course I haven't seen a schematic to determine if tuning is via a DSP processor or a voltage controlled tuner, etc, etc. to truly determine if a firmware update could in fact improve front end tuning sensitivity etc. (In a former life I designed embedded microprocessor systems for one of the BIG overnight shipping companies) Thanks anyway. I'm thinking about trying an RCA unit to compare.

Re: RC-1010 FirmwareHello,
OK, I borrowed my neighbors RCA STB7766G1 tuner and hooked it up in place of the Winegard unit. Without moving my antenna I now get 26 channels versus the 9 I got with the Winegard unit. But, the RCA remote has about 1/10 the range of the Winegard remote. I can fix this with the logitech harmony universal remote. The RCA EPG sucks. Fix that with Iphone TV Guide app. RCA signal strength meter is true real time, with beeping feedback similar to satellite tv box setup. Winegard has more video and audio output options than the RCA. Maybe my winegard unit is bad, can I have an RMA#? Otherwise, off to walmart to buy the RCA unit. William
Re: RC-1010 FirmwarePlease call Winegard technical service at 800-788-4417. They can help troubleshoot your problem or issue you an RMA if they determine it is a faulty unit.
