Hello...
I've never hooked up and ota antenna before now. I've been trying to get an antenna working for the past week but I can't seem to get more than 3 channels.
Right now I have a new Winegard 7697p installed on top of my two story home in 75002. The online sites say I am 40 miles from the broadcast towers.
I am getting ch 8, ch 11 and ch 52 only. I've tried positioning the antenna and have it getting the best snr of 27db right now in its current direction so I don't think it's a directional issue.
I just now tried plugging a coax in and throwing it down the outside of the roof to get rid of all excess cable and this improved my ch 8 snr to 32db but when I do a scan I still do not get any new channels.
At this point I'm not sure what to do. Is 32 or 27db a good snr?? I have no idea what is needed. I DID just read in another thread that 15db or so is the minimum so I should be seeing more channels according to that (and assuming the missing channels are near to the ch 8 snr).
I also show AGC of 52% (whatever that means).
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Please let me know if you need any more info. I'm stumped. My brother has an ota antenna inside his attic and gets channels that I do not get. Something has to be messed up on my setup or something.
Chris
