Need Pre-amp?

I currently have a HD7694P mounted in my attic above my garage. It is aimed through the front of the garage, drywall not shingle. I then have 100ft of rg6 before it hits a 6 way splitter in the center of my house. The splitter then runs to the 5 different locations in the house via rg6. ( these runs average 30-50ft) I live northwest of Dallas, Texas. Zip code 75028. I receive a perfect signal 85-95% on every Dallas channel except 35 and 36 (40-60%). These are both fox channels (4 and 27) respectively. Looking at tvfool and antennaweb it looks like 35 and 36 are almost the exact same specs (signal,distance,tower location) as channel 41 which I receive great. Would a Pre-amp help with channels 35 and 36 or do I have some bleeding going on from some of the more powerful stations?

You do not state whether you have an amplifier in you system. You have approximately 21dB of loss in your system and a preamplifier would defiantly help over come all of you signal loss. The model AP-8700 preamplifier would the amplifier of choice.

I have no Amplification at this point. I was able to tweak the antenna direction a bit and now receive channel 4 (35) really well with no dropout. Now the only problem channel is 27 (36). I will see if I can find a local supplier for the AP-8700 and give it a try.

I have a similar situation, some stations are very strong and some very low signal. I would like to know how did you select AP-8700 on this recommendation? Way you did not recommended AP-8733 unit? The selection is base on MAXIMUM TOTAL INPUT# (MICROVOLTS) parameter?
What is MAXIMUM TOTAL INPUT for HDP-269?
Are Winegard preamps working after 30ft coax RG6 cable?
It is possible to have my preamp saturated if I have stations with very strong signal (85%) and stations with very low signal on the same direction?

One test we should make is by pass the splitter and go directly to the shortest TV set and check to see if we have a strong signal on all of the channels. It is possible that since the antenna is in the attic we may not have a strong enough signal at the antenna and even then a preamplifier can not amplify something that does not exist. If you have a good signal then the Winegard AP-8700 preamplifier or a HDA-200 distribution amplifier can be used to over come your approximate 22.0 dB of system loss.
