Direrectv receiver w/Roadtrrip

Postby mhdunlap76 » Sun Oct 24, 2010 9:32 pm

I recently purchased a Tiffin RV with a RoadTrip installed. I already had DIrectv service, but have not been able to get the satelite dish to operate. It requires that I have component out of the receiver to the TV's in teh RV and I cannot find any Directv standard receiver that has component out to the TV's which makes the dis useless. I spent much time on the phone with Directv people, but no solutions. Any suggestions as to how I can make good use of the RoadTrip dish and directv. I do not care whether it is HD or not. Just tv that works.

Two options for you.

#1. You can purchase a DIRECTV HD receiver and use that. It has component out so it will connect with your television, but you will not be able to watch the HD quality channels with the RoadTrip dish. If you wish to pursue this option please call our receiver hotline number at 866-609-9374 and we can get one out to you immediately.

#2. You can purchase a composite to component convertor. We do not have one of these that we sell but I have seen them online in the past. I will caution you to make sure it says that it works with television signal as many are made for other devices.

Thank you for your response. I already tried that route with no luck. I own a Directv HD receiver that I use at home. I spent over an hour on the phone with Directv and they were not able to make it work with the RoadTrip.

Set your dish type to 3 LNB 18" x 20", with no degrees after it. Also set your switch type to multi-switch and you'll be set.
