satellite tv wont work with winegaurd connection

G'day ive just brought a satellite dish and im trying to connect it to my van through my external tv point on my van but because its connected to my winegaurd i cant get any signal i rang the guy i brought the kit off and he said i need to take my van to him so he could fix it does anyone know if i can do anything my self.

I would recommend calling technical services at 800-788-4417. In order to properly diagnos your problem we will need a little more information.

Also, as a first step try running the coax directly from the satellite dish to the receiver, bypassing the outside port on the van.

I was wanting to know if i could connect through the outside connection of my van and into the back of my winegard wall plate power supply where it says cable and if so can i switch between watching tv with my winegard and then switch to satellite is this possible.

It is possible to use the outside connection. First, bypass that connection and run the cable directly from the satellite to the receiver. Confirm you are on signal and watching TV. That will tell you the system is working fine.

Then attempt to connect using the outside panel on your van. If you have problems getting signal at that point with the same settings that worked when it was hooked up directly, please call Winegard Technical Services at 800-788-4417 and they will assist you.
