Here are the instructions for installing the CL-SK34

Wire Specifications*
Orange Wire – OEM Use only.
Red Wire - the red wire is a 20 AWG wire used only for Voltage
Stow Detect. All voltages should be safely fused and
Installer should be aware that voltage ratings are based on
the voltage at the IDU.
Black Wire – the black wire is a 20 AWG wire that is used in
either the Voltage Stow Detect or the Ground Stow detect as
a common ground wire.
Brown Wire – the brown wire is a 20 AWG wire used only
for Ground Stow Detect.
*The Installer is responsible for proper wiring installation and
practices. All connections should be verified for proper operation
prior to making final connections to the IDU. Installers should never
exceed specifications for given wire sizes and voltages ranges. If
unsure about connections, installer should verify proper connections
with vehicle manufacturer prior to making connections. Auxillary
stow cable may not work for all situations, IDU should remain
powered for proper operation.
Step 3: Plug the CL-SK34 Auto-Detect Cable into the back
of the TRAV’LER interface as shown in the figure below.
Step 4: Reconnect the 12 VDC Power to the TRAV’LER
interface.
Step 5: Test the Auto-Detect Function. Turn the TRAV’LER
on by holding the [Power] Button for 2 seconds. Allow the
unit to raise and begin a search. Once the unit begins to
raise, start the vehicle and apply the break to test the Auto-
Detect function. If the TRAV’LER interface does not respond,
contact Winegard Company at 1 (800) 788-4417.
Step 1: Disconnect the Power from the TRAV’LER
interface by unplugging the DC IN cable on the back of
the interface.
Step 2: Auxillary Stow Cable
There are two methods to automatically stow your Winegard
TRAV’LER. The two methods are listed below. The
Voltage Stow Detect will automatically stow your unit
when a voltage that meets the below specifications is
sensed by the IDU. The Ground Stow Detect will automatically
stow your unit when a ground that meets the
below specifications is sensed by the IDU. If either is
sensed, the IDU will automatically stow and power off
the unit.
Voltage Stow Detect – To use the cable as a voltage
stow detect, the unit should be hooked up to a voltage
source in the vehicle that is not present when the antenna
is deployed and in operation (such as ignition, brake
etc). Whenever an operational voltage is present, the unit
will automatically stow. To use the Voltage detect, the red
wire must be connected to the voltage detect source (1)
and the black wire must be connected to ground. See
wire specifications below.
(1) a source between 0-2.5 VDC will be present under
normal operation. When a voltage source between
7-14 VDC is detected, the stow will be activated. When a
source between 0-2.5 VDC is present, the voltage detect
will be deactivated. Once activated, the unit will completely
stow even if deactivated during the stow cycle.
Ground Stow Detect – To use the cable as a ground
stow detect, the unit should be hooked up to a ground
detect source (2) in the vehicle that is not present when
the antenna is deployed and in operation. Whenever a
ground is present, the unit will automatically stow. To use
the Ground detect, the brown wire needs to be connected
to the ground detect source and the black wire must be
connected to ground. See Wire Specifications at top of
next column.
(2) a source between 2-14 VDC will be present under
normal operation. When a ground source between
0-0.9 VDC is detected, the stow will be activated. When a
source between 2-14 VDC is present, the ground detect
will be deactivated. Once activated, the unit will completely
stow even if deactivated during the stow cycle.
