Travler 1000 Dish

Postby kirk37r » Sun Aug 15, 2010 8:27 pm

We recently purchased A 5th wheel Camper with A Travler 1000 Dish already mounted by the RV dealer we purchased from. They said it would work with A 322 dish reciever, Which it does. But we have upgraded to Dish HD and now we are being told by Dish that we have A dish system that wont work with the VIP222k Reciever, and they wont allow us to activate the 322 reciever on our account because it has to be A mpeg 3 model . Is there something that can be done to this Travler unit to make it pickup sats 77,72,or 61.5? I sure am worried that I may have A $1,300.00 ornament on the roof of my 5th wheel,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The SK-1000 is made to look at satellites 110, 119 and 129. It will not lock onto 61.5,77,and 72. You can get the same programming on 110, 119 and 129. You just need to tell Dish Network you want the satellites for the Western Arc. The RC-322 should work just fine with the SK-1000 it just won't get the HD quality channels.

I purchased the Trav'ler 1000 Dish antenna in April of this year and have used is from East coast (Florida) to the West coast (Oregon) with my Dish HD DVR receiver watching HD channels with no problems. Great antenna! :D

I thought I could do that. I had read a post that said I was better off replacing the whole thing. I'm sure my Direct TV guy can do this for me when I'm ready to go fulltime. Thanks for responding.
