No Signal Message

Postby Michigan Jim » Wed Aug 25, 2010 4:53 pm

I recently purchased a 2006 Trailmanor trailer with the Winegard Sensar on the roof. My problem is my 2010 TV gives me a 'no signal' message on the screen. I have (2) boosters, one in the lounge area and one on the bedroom wall. It makes no difference if either, or both, boosters are on or off. Additionally, if I connect to a parks cable through the connection on the trailer I get a very weak picture and sound from a very few stations. Hooked directly to the TV (by-passing the trailer altogether) the park connection works fine. Not sure if that is related to the boosters interferring or not. I have never had (2) boosters before so I don't "know the drill" with (2) present with or without cable hook-up.

Any ideas before I start tearing the rig apart trying to chase the 75 ohm cable(s) everywhere?

There should only be one power supply for the antenna. This sounds like a fishy wiring situation. When we tried to wire a digital converter with a power supply and a video switch (both hooked to 12VDC) the light on the video switch would not come on. From that experience I learned two power supplies were not going to work. Start by detaching the power to one of your power supplies. Run an external coax cable from the antenna head straight to the power supply that is still attached to 12VDC. Make sure the TV is set to antenna. Run a channel scan. If you get stations you know it has something to do with the wiring, or power being ran to both power supplies.
You can call the manufacturer of the RV and find out exactly how the RV was wired.
You can also call our technical department @ 800-788-4417.
You can go to atennapoint.com to see what stations are available in your area.
