Okay, am I missing something on antenna's?

My fifth wheel is a 1999, this I beleive is the antenna I have, I find the most I get is three channels if I am lucky, on my last trip to an area of BC called Harrison Hot Springs I got ONE channel, now am I understanding it right that I should be able to do better than one or so channels?
We have now gone and picked up a Shaw satellite as the wife wants it set up so she can get more shows for her and the daughter, have not activated it yet, and am curious if we even needed a dish if the antenna would have worked better.
Any input?

Good morning partsman -

The number of stations you receive on your over-the-air antenna will be determined by the number of stations broadcasting in your area. As an example, if you are in Chicago you could be picking up 45+ channels, here in Burlington, Iowa you would receive more like 15.

Your distance to these channels and the obstructions between you and the signal will determine how many of the total available channels in your area, you are able to receive.

I would also recommend taking a look at the Winegard Wingman, a quick and low cost add on to your Sensar that will increase the range of UHF channels 14-51.
