what components

Postby hank85713 » Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:02 pm

I have a 10 year old antenna on my TT. I have installed a HDTV, but get mixed results from OTA transmissions.

Camping World has a sale on DGTV antenna parts, I need to know what I actually need. 1 is a baseplate for the head with a UHF (?) antenna off to one side for around $30, the other is a new head with the wings on it around $50.

What is needed the 1st or second or both?

Have heard both ways, the plate and antenna, then the head and wings.

or is one of the government boxes all that is needed?

Please advise

Good morning Hank,

What you need will depend on what you have and what you need to replace. The "government box", or converter box, will be needed if you have a television without a digital tuner. If you have a Sensar with the 3 holes on the bottom of the head (like most) you can simply buy a Wingman attachment and attach it to the antenna on top of your travel trailer.

Alternatively you can purchase a Sensar IV replacement head which will replace the UHF head and batwings you currently have. The Sensar IV has the Wingman attachment built in.

If you need or are having problems with your base or mount you can purchase the entire Sensar IV with mount and install that.
