Vibration noise

Postby rploeckelman » Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:39 pm

I have an HD8800 mounted on a 6ft pole on a tripod on my roof. We live in a open area so it is usually windy. Only when it is really windy (about 20mph or more) there is a loud, fairly high frequency, vibration coming from the antenna. I cannot tell exactly where the noise is coming from but I know its the antenna/pole/tripod. Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions how to fix it?

Check the elements front and back on the HD-8800 antenna to make sure they are good and tight to make sure there is nothing on the antenna that is loose and vibrating. Also check the mounting U bolts and booms on the antenna.

This is not something we normally run into.
