DIRECTV HD receiver and Winegard mobile sat

I just purchased a horse trailer with living quarters/coach that has a Winegard satellite system already installed. It says it is factory set for Direct TV. I orderd the receiver box from Direct TV and attempted to set it up. I have a satellite in coax coming out of the wall , which I plug to satellite in on the receiver. Then out of the receiver via HDMI to the TV. All I get is 'Searching for satellite signal' on the TV screen. The DTV receiver box is an HD box, will this not work in an RV??????

There are several questions that will need to be asked before we can get very far in this conversation.

It might be better if you could give us a call at 1-800-788-4417. We can find out which system you have, make sure it is working correctly and help you get the receiver set up to work with the system you have.

perhaps, if there is a setting on the receiver which asks you to "disable" or "turn-off" the HD setting ( since DirTV doesn't allow for transmission of these like Dish does )....just a thought :>)

If all you are getting is searching for satellite...

There are dozens of things that could be causing this. This conversation really needs to take place over the phone. It is just easier for both of us.
