upgrade from HD1080

Postby ray750 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 4:53 pm

Hello. Currently I am using the Winegard 1080 in my attic. I get most of the channels I need except for NBC-KNTV. My zip is 94925 and the area is hilly. I would like to upgrade to a more sensitive antenna so that I can get KNTV. What do you recommend? Thank you!

I'm definitely showing the signal issues in your area from the hills. Your stations are all fairly close, up to about 30 miles away and are on both VHF and UHF.

I would recommend first moving the antenna out of the attic is possible. Installing an antenna in an attic will cause you to lose 50% - 90% of your signal depending on the type of materials used on your roof. If you wish to keep an antenna in your attic I would suggest moving up to as large of an antenna as you can fit in there. Our ratings would put you at a HD7697P to receive those violet rated channels or a HD7084P if you wanted to be able to receive VHF low channel 4.
