WHICH ONE?

Postby gpoen1 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 7:04 pm

Hi all. I'm new here. I need advice on choosing a high gain UHF antenna. I've narrowed my choices down to the HD9032 and the HD9095P. The spec's are very close; the biggest difference appears to be the construction. The HD9032 appears to be more vunerable to wind damage; the HD9095P just looks more rugged. Anyone with any experience with eithor one care to comment? -Greg

Good morning Greg -

The performance between the antennas for all practical purposes is the same since you must have at least 3.0dB more gain on a channel between the antennas in order for you to see an improvement in the picture.

The HD-9032 is center mounted and is more balanced if you are going to use a TV antenna rotor. Both antennas are manufactured using the same materials.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will be using a rotor very infrequently but it will be there. The reason I questioned the construction of the 9032 is because there's only 1 mounting point compared with 3 with the 9095. Of course I realize the end mounting on the 9095 is the reason for that. As long as the boom is of the same material on both antennas I'm not concerned.

I won't be doing anything for several weeks because of the weather here in West-Central Ohio. In fact it's snowing as I type this and 21 degrees!
