MS-2000 Question

MS-2000 QuestionI am looking to purchase and install a Winegard HDTV antenna. Looking at AntennaWeb.org, all the signals I'm interested in are within 8 miles from my house with two at 10 and 20 miles out. If I purchase an MS-2000 and the pre-amp became over-powered by the nearby signals, could I just unplug the power injector? Or, do I need to purchase the MS-1000, instead? Also, how would the GS-2200 antenna compare as the azimuths of the channels are 74, 152, 154, 169, 172, 179, and 194. Do I absolutely need a multi-directional antenna? I'm planning on mounting this antenna in my large attic space.
Re: MS-2000 QuestionGood morning undrc7,
The MS-2000 is not recommended if you are less than 20 miles from your stations which you are at 8 miles. You can not turn off the power or unplug the power supply since this will cause at least an 85% signal reduction to your signal trying to come trough non power transistors in the MS-2000. You will be much better off with the MS-1000 and if needed an HDP-269 preamplifier which only has 12dB of gain and a higher input level than the amplifier in the MS-2000. Yes, you need an omni directional antenna because of the beam width of your signals.
