measuring signal strength

Postby wasberg » Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:47 pm

Aside from the voltage measurement at the antenna head, is there any way to measure signal strength through all the connections to the TV? The motorhome is 2 years old and the Sensar signal does not appear to be as strong as I have seen in the past with my other RVs. If I could measure the signal then incremental improvement could be seen as coax connections are cleaned or remade.

There are signal strength meter for antennas but they run about $1000.00 so are rarely a good option.

If you have your manual for the antenna, there is a trouble shooting section in back of the book. Otherwise, the link below will take you to a copy of the manual.

If this doesn't help, please let me know and we can look for any other issues that might be causing a lower signal strength.
